About Me
I'm a retired Banking executive who has enjoyed a passion for photography for over 30 years. For many years I shot negatives with my Mamiya 645 and developed and printed my own photos. In late 2004 I purchased my first digital camera, a Nikon D70. Since then I purchased a Nikon D200 (which my wife just inherited) when I recently migrated to the Nikon D300.
As you will see from my gallery, my subject interest vary widely. Overall, I prefer nature, landscape or scenic photography. I also like to experiment with macro photography when a subject interests me. I hope you enjoy the images and invite you to send me an email with any comments about the site or a particular image at ray@raylaurencephotos.com.
Current and Past Equipment Used
I use a Nikon D300 and have six lenses. The standard Nikkor 18-70mm, the 80-400mm, the 105mm Micro, the 85mm portrait lens, the 10.5 fisheye, and a 20mm wide-angle lens.
Location
I live in Lake Oswego, Oregon which is 7 miles directly south of Portland. Here we enjoy the ability to reach Mount Hood in about 1.5 hours and the Pacific Ocean in about the same amount of time.
Other Interests
I also enjoy music, reading, gardening, and computing.
